New Year’s Eve is all about celebrating, and there’s no better way to ring in the new year than with a spread of easy, crowd-pleasing appetizers. After years of hosting (and plenty of trial and error), we’ve nailed down the best NYE foods from Costco that combine convenience, flavor, and affordability.
Whether throwing a party for 20 or keeping it cozy with close friends, these picks will elevate your spread without breaking the bank.
Here are our top Costco appetizer recommendations to make your New Year’s Eve celebration a hit:
Shrimp Cocktail

Lesson learned: buying shrimp from a local fish market during Thanksgiving was a splurge we won’t repeat—it was triple the cost of Costco’s version! For just $9.99 per pound, Costco’s shrimp cocktail comes complete with cocktail sauce and lemons. Guests typically eat 3–5 pieces each, so plan on about one pound for every four people. It’s fresh, delicious, and an absolute steal.
Crudité Platter

Sure, it’s not the flashiest option, but Costco’s crudité platter is a lifesaver for vegetarian and vegan guests—or anyone trying to kick-start their healthy resolutions early. Loaded with fresh veggies and served with creamy Ranch dip, this tray adds a nice balance to your indulgent NYE spread.
Spinach Artichoke Dip

La Terra Fina’s Spinach Artichoke Dip feels rich, indulgent, and downright irresistible. We love it warmed up and served with tortilla chips, but here’s a pro tip: if you have leftovers, stuff a tablespoon or two into a chicken breast and bake. It’s a next-level flavor upgrade you won’t regret.
Italian-Style Meatballs

We’ve been buying these meatballs for years, and they never let us down. Bite-sized and perfectly seasoned, they heat up quickly and work well with various sauces. They can be a little greasy, but a quick blot with a paper towel keeps them party-ready.
Tempura Shrimp

These crispy, golden-brown shrimp are a game-changer. The tails double as a convenient handle, making them easy for guests to grab. Pair them with a sweet chili sauce for dipping, and watch them disappear in no time.
Pigs in a Blanket

Homemade pigs in a blanket are fun to make, but let’s be real: they’re also time-consuming. Costco’s pre-made version is just as tasty, with beef franks wrapped in flaky dough. They’re quick to heat and always a hit with both kids and adults.
Lobster Ravioli

Hear us out—ravioli as an appetizer is totally doable! Fry up Costco’s Lobster Ravioli to create crispy little bites of heaven. Simply dunk each piece in egg, coat with breadcrumbs, and deep fry or air fry. Pair them with your favorite sauce (we have lots of suggestions!) for a unique and fancy app.
Cuisine Innovations Mini Appetizers

New to the warehouse, these mini appetizers are perfect for NYE. With options like Feta & Caramelized Onion Tarts, Mushroom & Filet Beef En Croute, and Burrata Bites, there’s something for everyone. We haven’t tried them all yet, but the rave reviews online have us excited—and the Filet Mignon En Croute is already chilling in our freezer for the big night.
Your NYE Spread = Done
With these Costco appetizers on your menu, you can focus on celebrating instead of stressing. Easy to prepare and guaranteed to impress, they’ll help you ring in the new year with flavor and fun. Cheers to a delicious 2025!

Hello Kristen,
I’m hosting my sons wedding this summer in our backyard. There will be 50-55 people & I will need to serve appetizer’s & prepare a salad to accompany the dinner.
What appetizer’s would you recommend from Costco(I would like to avoid using the oven) & what bagged salad would you recommend?
Thank you for creating this site!
Rosemarie
Hi Rosemarie!
Congratulations on your wedding! Here are some cold appetizers I’d recommend:
1. Shrimp Cocktail – It is 1/3 the price of the local fish monger and includes lemons and cocktail sauce. I’d plan for 3-4 pieces per person and the standard size is 16-20 shrimp per pound.
2. Dips — La Terra Fina Spinach and Artichoke dip is excellent and a great crowd pleaser.
3. Charcuterie — Cheeses, salami, proscuitto, etc.
As for bagged salads, Caesar is really good and everyone likes it. Or the Mediterranean Crunch would work because it’s very hearty so it can stand up to being left out for a while without getting soggy.
Wishing you a wonderful wedding day!
